Going Green

When designing Cedar Ridge, a lot of thought and consideration went into the resource-efficient elements, material choice, and operational uses of the home. It was important to construct our homes that highlighted environmental qualities. Below are some of the eco-friendly features:

  • Geothermal heating and cooling system
  • Energy efficient doors and windows
  • Energy Star compliant appliances
  • Recycling center in kitchen
  • Compact florescent lighting
  • Recycled wood from clearing site was milled and used as interior trim
  • Blown recycled cellulose insulation
  • High-efficiency water heater
  • Cotton window treatments
  • Composting bin

The term “going green” refers to any activity that lessens our impact on the environment and doing our part to conserve and recycle our everyday resources. Going green is not only good for the environment; it is also good for you. The way we live and the choices we make in providing for our need will have an enormous influence on the quality of life for those who will follow us. The change to a greener lifestyle can be rewarding knowing that we are doing our part to help the environment.
